The PA Smart Voter website was created by the League of Women Voters Citizens Education Fund as a one-stop shop to find information about the candidates and contests that will be on your ballots come election day.
Sample Testimony
Groups with the potential to impact or be impacted by a particular issue or piece of legislation will be called to testify at public hearings. These hearings provide an excellent opportunity to make the case for your issue to multiple elected officials at the same time.
The main purpose of public hearings is to obtain public input on the issue(s) at hand. Effective testimony should be clear and to the point. It should include relevant facts and figures and personal stories related to the issue(s) or policy decisions in question. The Arts Council has gathered the following examples of testimony given at a 2008 House Urban Affairs Committee hearing on The Economic Impact of the Arts on PA Cities.
