| | Why
did the Arts Council create this service?
| | We
created this service to both increase attendance at arts and culture events AND
to provide a meaningful member benefit for
individuals in the arts and culture community who often have limited discretionary
income, tremendous interest in the diverse offerings our region provides and a
strong desire to support our creative peers. | How
will the Arts Council Half-Price Listing help my organization?
| | This
is an opportunity for arts and culture organizations to increase paid admissions
and selectively fill seats or exhibition spaces that would otherwise be unsold.
| Who,
specifically, will be receiving this email?
| | The
arts and culture community! The Arts Council's membership is made up of staff
of arts organizations and arts businesses, independent artists/creative professionals,
and "arts ally" individual donors. Currently we have between 500 and
600 email addresses, however we know that our membership includes many more individuals.
We expect the list to grow as additional staff from member organizations learn
about the service and send us their email address. In fact, if you know anyone
who should be on our member list, ADD
THEM! (Be sure to include their name and the name of their organization in
the email.) | How
is this email different from the Arts Council Events Listing?
| | The
Arts Council's Events Listing is targeted to the general public and only lists
events. It does not generally offer any discounts. The Half-Price email is exclusive
to members and only lists offers of half-price discounts. | How
much does it cost to list an offer?
| | Participation
is FREE for current Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council members as a benefit of membership.
Non-member organizations may also participate for a fee of $5 per week |
.How
do I submit a half-price discount offer?
| | Please
use the online form available here. |
Does my organization's
offer have to be half-price?
| | Generally,
yes. This program is marketed as a "half-price discount" program to
maximize its appeal and simplicity. However, if your organization would like to
offer comp tickets/admissions through this list, we are happy to include those
as well. Please contact
us if you would like to promote another type of discount. | What
is the schedule for the Arts Council to collect half-price discount offers?
| | Tuesday
at 5 pm: Offers due! Thursday: Arts Council Half-Price email sent to members. |
Can I specify
restrictions on the offers my organization submits?
| | Absolutely.
For example, you may want to specify that your half-price offer cannot be combined
with other discounts, or you might want to limit the number of tickets or admissions
sold to each customer. You can choose which ticket prices you would like to offer
at half-price, as well as the number of half-price tickets to be sold. You can
also specify specific days or times for your offers - the discount does not have
to be valid for every price point, or performance date and time you offer at full
price. | How
will consumers redeem my offer? Can I specify how I want my offer redeemed?
| | Either
online, by telephone or in person. The online submission form contains a redemption
section in which you can provide us with clear instructions as to how you would
like members to redeem the offer. | Why
should I create an offer code?
| | We
encourage you to specify an offer "code" for members to use when redeeming
the offer. This will make it easier for the user and your staff and will also
help you track the results of your offer(s). | Do
I need to report the results of the offer to the Arts Council?
| | Yes,
we would like to collect data immediately for this service so we can make decisions
in the future about how it may be adapted or expanded. We ask that you report
your discount sales as soon as possible but no later than one month after your
offer has occurred. To report your data, please use the online form located
here.
Reporting is a requirement for ongoing participation. | Are
there any reasons why my offer would not be included?
| | If
the offer was submitted late (past Tuesday at 5 pm) or if results from previous
offers were never submitted. | What
if my organization does not have an online ticketing vendor?
| | Online
ticketing is not required for participation in this program. However, if you are
interested in offering online tickets, read more about how ProArtsTickets
may work for your organization. | What
happens if the Arts Council does not receive any submissions of half-price discount
offers in a given week?
| | We
simply will not send an email. | Whom
should I contact if I have additional questions about the Arts Council's Half-Price
Discount emails? | | Dek
