Coverage for the Arts
The
Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council is proud to announce the arrival of a health coverage
plan for the arts. Arts Council members eligible for the program include:
| |
| independent
artists, | | |
| part-time
or seasonal employees of local cultural organizations, |
| | | uncovered
spouses or dependents of currently covered employees in those organizations, and |
| | | all
employees (full- and part-time) of small businesses and organizations that currently
do not offer any coverage options. |
| | This
is not a traditional health insurance program, but a limited benefit medical plan
that was designed based on input from the arts community about desired benefits
and pricing. All eligible Arts Council members qualify for the plan. You can't
be turned down for coverage, and there are no medical questions to answer. |
| | |
| | The
HM Care Advantage plan, underwritten by HM Life Insurance Company, starts at under
$60 a month. The plan offers three tiers of coverage that include benefits for
physician office visits, annual wellness tests and screenings, ambulance and emergency
room coverage, and discounts for pharmacy, vision, fitness and wellness products
and services. Some plans also include an additional critical illness component.
If you would like to be notified of the next enrollment period, send us an email
with your name and contact information. | |
| |
| | With
this plan, the Arts Council has taken an important first step towards making health
coverage available to everyone in the local arts community who needs it. |
