Now Open: The 2024 Greater Pittsburgh Arts Community Surveys
Every two years, the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council conducts the Arts Community Surveys — a temperature check on the health of our sector. This year’s surveys launch on August 6 and remain open until September 13, 2024.
The Arts Community Surveys track the challenges, accomplishments, and aspirations of artists and arts organizations working in the region. After each cycle, we take the survey results directly to elected officials and other regional changemakers to make the case for arts-friendly policies, funding, and more. We used 2022 community survey data to advocate for the equitable and impactful distribution of City of Pittsburgh American Rescue Plan funds to artists.
These surveys also help arts sector peers benchmark their experiences against others’ and develop data-based initiatives to tackle common challenges. We want this data to work for you, so stay tuned this fall to learn how to engage with the findings.
Individual Artists: Get on the list for the Artist Community Survey
The Artist survey explores the personal and career health of artists in our region. It contains questions about experience, income, funding, equity and access, barriers to career advancement, and more.
As in 2022, every artist who completes the survey will receive a $15 e-gift card for their participation. All Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council artist members and individual grantees and applicants automatically receive this survey via email. Want to participate but not on our lists yet?
