This week, SMU DataArts, the National Center for Arts Research, released its second annual Arts Vibrancy State Rankings, and I am thrilled to share that Pennsylvania has secured a place among the top 10 states for the first time. Moving from twelfth position in 2023 to ninth in 2024 is a testament to the strength, creativity, and dedication of our state’s arts and culture sector.
These rankings are determined through a comprehensive analysis of 13 unique metrics that measure arts vibrancy, including per capita funding for the arts, the number of arts organizations, and the cultural opportunities available to residents.
