$150,000 in Grants Available to Creative Entrepreneurs in Allegheny, Beaver, Greene & Washington Counties

PITTSBURGH – October 10, 2022 – Creative entrepreneurs can receive up to $2,000 to support general operations of their small business through the Creative Entrepreneur Accelerator Grant, administered by the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council. Applications are being accepted for this grant program beginning Saturday, October 15.

A grant program of the PA Council on the Arts, the Creative Entrepreneur Accelerator was created to increase small business opportunities and support economic recovery for those in creative fields such as marketing, architecture, visual arts, crafts, design, film and media, digital games, music, entertainment and publishing. In addition to funding, applicants will receive free consultation services from local small business development organizations as a mandatory requirement of the grant application.

Applications open October 15 and grants will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. This grant opportunity will close on Thursday, December 15. All applications must include a business plan that is approved by referral coordinators. The Arts Council will conduct a virtual information session on Wednesday, October 19 at noon. The last day to request support from referral coordinators is Friday, November 18.

Fifty-one percent of the funds are reserved for Black, indigenous, or persons of color and individuals residing in communities identified by the Small Business Administration’s low-income communities map as part of the Arts Council’s commitment to increasing diversity and inclusion in the arts.

The Arts Council is administering this grant on behalf of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts’ Creative Entrepreneur Accelerator Program, as it is PCA’s partner for Allegheny, Beaver, Greene and Washington counties.
