Bio
Who is the last Pittsburgh musical artist that you streamed or saw in concert?
Ethel Cain. I saw her perform at the Warhol last year. I knew her as a national artist, and she recently moved to Pittsburgh.
What's your favorite piece of art you purchased last year?
I've been ogling Lizzee Solomon's laser cut wall art for so long, and finally splurged on one of her jaguars. She's hanging above my couch and is a total beaut!
What art space(s) do you recommend the most to visitors?
I always try to bring people downtown, which is funny because so many people try to avoid downtown. You can make a day of it by going gallery hopping (so many free art galleries) and catching a movie at the Harris Theater, which is my all-time favorite.
What do you think of as art that most people don’t?
I’m kind of obsessed with graphic novels and comic books, and I think their incredible artwork is under appreciated. Comics journalism is also incredible.
What's your most memorable art moment in the last decade?
I've always loved guerilla art, street art, yarn bombing, things like that, so I really loved when the Andy Warhol bridge was yarn bombed by the Fiber Arts Guild in 2013.
